Departmental Introduction:
- The Department of Economics was established in 1959.
- The Dept. of Economics has been working activity since last 55 years in imparting education to students at Graduate level.
- The Department of Economics has been headed by scholars and luminaries like Prof. V. P. Parikh, Prof. N. R. Dave, Prof. Mashru, Prof. K. A. Patel, Dr. C. D. Modi (Re. Pri. Comm. Collage, Patan), L.M. Swami (Pri. At Mahila A & C Collage Unjha), Dr. B. S. Patel and others.
- Currently Prof. U. H. Patel is heading the Department of Economics and Dr. Alpesh Patel and Dr. Bharat Chaudhary are assistant professors in the department.
Why Economics:
- The Study of Economics is important because with out it we would not be able to understand the impact of the development in business, Society, and the national & world economy.
- It also allows you to comprehend the decision of households, firms and government based on human behaviour, beliefs, structure, constraints, and needs.
- Also the study of Economics is important in the sense that it teachers as how to make rational use of our scarce resources in order to meet up our unlimited wants.
Mission:
- To see that the students of North Gujarat get Higher Education in Economics, a Subject of Worldwide importance.
- To enable the students of Economics to be aware of the local and global economical Problems and their Possible solutions.
- To Provide through the organizations of various extracurricular activities, opportunity to the Students to develop his Personality and create his identity.

- To bring out the latent potentialities of the students of economics of the new generation.
- To help the students through proper guidance and teaching to achieve brilliant success in their examinations.
- To see that the students build their career and character in the best way possible.
